Biography
Was born in Lisbon and lived in Lisbon. Self-taught artist, he showed for the first time, collectively, in 1935. Painter, and graphic designer. He followed his own path and had a career that spanned for many years. Author of some decorative murals, one of which of big dimensions, in Café Império, Lisbon (1955). 1965 Drawing Prize “Casa da Imprensa”, Lisbon. Group exhibitions in Portugal: several, among which 3rd, 4th and 6th (1960/61/63) “Salões de Arte Moderna da SNBA”, 1974 AICA-SNBA 74, 1975 “Figuração Hoje”, Lisbon. 1977 “Portuguese Culture in Madrid”, Fundación Juan March, Madrid. Retrospectives of his work, 1957 Fine Arts School, Lisbon and in 2000 Palácio Galveias, Lisbon.
